 Richard Arum is a Seattle based actor, director, filmmaker, voiceover artist, and educator. He spent 15 years in the Boston area performing in theater, film, television, commercials, and industrial videos. He was seen on many local stages, including The Huntington Theater Company, Gloucester Stage Company, Boston Publick Theater, Stoneham Theater (now the Greater Boston Theater Company), Boston Playwrights’ Theater, Zeitgeist Stage, and Company One, as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. He also appeared opposite Kevin James in the film Here Comes the Boom.

Since relocating to Seattle, Richard has continued to perform on both stage and screen. He was nominated for a Gregory Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role in Book-It Repertory Theater’s epic production of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. He has directed several productions for Studio 4 Seattle, as well as producing and directing the short film So I Was Wondering…, which appeared in seven film festivals across the country, and earned him a “Special Recognition for Directing” from the San Francisco Shorts Film Festival.

As an educator, Richard has taught drama to students of all ages in schools (both public and independent), workshops, summer camps, and after school programs. He has performed in touring educational theater productions in schools throughout New England, including two one-person shows as Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin. During the pandemic he hosted a weekly internet show for Best in Class Education Center called Fun with Rich.

He received his BA in Theater Arts from Clark University, and studied Theater Education at Emerson College. He was inducted into the Warner Theater Hall of Fame in Torrington, CT., and he is a proud member of both Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and SAG-AFTRA.
